Dear Parents, A happy and healthy 5770 to all! May your year be filled with health and happiness. A hearty to everyone for a delightful Sunday, September 13th at Wingra Park. This past week we prepared for Rosh Hashanah and with Mrs. Harris we finished beginning year student assessments. We began to break into various grade level ability groups at different times. We will continue this more frequently as the year progresses. We read various Rosh HaShanah liturgy, made honey bowls, ate apples and honey, made honey prints, finished holiday letters and heard holiday stories. We discussed taking care of ourselves and remembering to improve as we ìhit the mark.î In general studies we continued using the Scholastic News magazine and did an apple unit on sink and float. We also played number bingo as well. We identified and compared numbers. Next week the older students will encounter more traditional math lessons as they become accustomed to their new text series: Voyages Math. Kindergarten students will soon begin their work in this series as well. Todah Rabbah: Thank you to the Rudin Family for the donation of a box of reading material! Thank you to the Greenspan Family for the loan of various building toys and for the delicious apples.
